The objectives of this study were: (1) To study the status of school-industry linkages in vocational education at plus two stage with reference to Teacher training, Identification of manpower needs, Student admission, Curriculum development, Sharing infrastructrure, Expert services, Practical on the job training, Evaluation of the students, Apprenticeship training, and Placement. (2) To study the effectiveness of school industry linkage in vocational education at plus two stage. (3) To study the problems of school-industry linkages. (4) To study the prospects (future) of school-industry linkages. (5) To study a model for effective school-industry linkages in vocational education at plus two stage.

The sample consists of 210 vocational education teachers, 72 Principals of vocational education, 333 vocation education students, 99 Industry Managers and 50 Delphi experts selected through purposive sampling.

Data was collected with the help of questionnaire developed by the investigator.

To study the present status, effectiveness and problems of school-industry linkages, normative survey method was chosen by the researcher.

Content analysis and percentage were used for analyzing the data.

The findings were: (1) The investigator observed through records that most of the school authorities never try to send their teachers for acquiring skill based vocational training in the particular trade and they never try to collect reference material (literatrure) from big industries to enrich their vocational teachers. (2) In Rajasthan as a whole and in all ranges of Rajasthan except Kota range, school-industrry linkage regarding teachers’ training programme is not effective. It can just be considered as below average level. (3) Higher authorities of Departemnt of Education do not take much interest in vocational education. They just take it as a general course whereas philosophy of vocational courses demands special attention that is different from academic stream. (4) Maximum number of Dellphi experts have consensus on the statement that status of vocational education will increase if there is closer co-ordination between school and industry in the near future. (5) On the reverse, they also give the consensus that this linkage between them will increase and there is greater involvement of industry through adoption of vocational schools by industry.
