The objectives of this study were: (1) To measure existing environmental awareness in students. (2) To measure existing attitude in students. (3) To develop environmental awareness and attitude through educational programs. (4) To analyze effectiveness of the programme. (5) To give suggestions to improve awareness and positive environmental attitude in students.
The findings were: (1) The split-half reliability of environmental awareness test is 0.891 which shows that the test is reliable. (2) After first training the experimental group of private school showed 68.2% improvement in total mean value and after second training the improvement was 89.6% towards environmental awareness. (3) In private schools the experimental group gained 69.95% environmental awareness after first training. (4) After second training the experimental group of private school showed 90.1% improvement in their awareness towards environment. (5) The split-half reliability of environmental attitude scale was 0.947 that shows the test is more reliable. (6) In private schools the experimental group gained 85.8%. (7) After second training the same group gained 94.95% positive attitude towards environment.
