The objectives of study were: (1) To study the relationship between organizational climate of college and teacher’s professional values. (2) To study the relationship between organizational climate of college and teacher’s anxiety. (3) To study the relationship between organizational climate of college and family relationship of teachers. (4) To study the professional values of teachers with respect to variables, namely, teachers’ sex, experience qualification and type of management of the Colleges. (5) To study the teachers anxiety with respect to variables, namely, teachers’ sex, experience, qualification and type of management of the colleges.
The hypotheses of study were: (1) The teachers’ professional values are related to organizational climate of colleges. (2) The teachers’ anxiety is related to organizational climate of colleges. (3) The organizational climate is related to teachers’ family relationship. (4) The professional values will differ in the male and female teachers. (5) The professional values will differ in the more experienced and less experienced teachers. (6) The professional values will differ in the more qualified and less qualified teacher. (7) The professional values will differ between teachers of the university and affiliated colleges. (8) The teachers’ anxiety will differ in the male and female teachers. (9) The teachers’ anxiety will differ in the more experienced and less experienced teachers. (10) The teachers’ anxiety will differ in the more qualified and less qualified teacher. (11) The teachers’ anxiety will differ in the teachers of government and non – government colleges.
The Sample comprised of 400 teachers of Bundelkhand University.
Teacher’s Professional Value Scale by P.C. Shukla & W.N. John, Organizational Climate Questionnaire (QCD) by Meenakshi Bhatnagar, Teachers’ Family Realtionship and Anxiety Scale were developed by researcher for data collection.
The present study was Descriptive in nature.The data were analyzed by Mean, SD, CR and Product Moment Correlation.
The findings of study were: (1) The negative dimensions of the organizational climate disharmony, hindrance, authoritarianism and lack of facilities are negatively correlated with normal, social, educational, democratic and aesthetic values. (2) The positive dimensions of the organizational climate support and satisfaction, democracy and freedom, discipline and control have shown significant positive relationship with morale, social, educational, personal and democratic professional values. (3) The positive dimensions of the organizational climate, namely, thrust and academic emphasis show positive and insignificant relationship with all the seven professional values. (4) The negative dimensions of the organizational climate are positively correlated with teachers’ anxiety. (5) The positive dimensions of the organizational climate are negatively correlated with teachers’ anxiety. (6) More qualified male university teachers have better teachers professional values than more qualified teachers. (7) Less qualified male university teachers are also better than less qualified college teachers regarding teachers professional values. (8) Total less qualified teachers shows significant difference regarding teachers professional values with more qualified teachers. (9) Total male teachers do not show any significant difference with female teachers regarding professional values. (10) More experienced teachers proved better teachers professional value than the less experienced teachers. (11) There is a significant difference between college and university teachers and it has been found that university teachers have better professional value than college teachers. (12) More qualified female teachers have high anxiety than more qualified male teachers. (13) Less qualified college teachers also have high anxiety than less qualified male college teachers. (14) University male teachers show high anxiety with university male teachers. (15) There are significant differences in the anxiety of (male – female) university, (male – female) teachers of college and (male – female), total group of female suffer with more anxiety in comparison to male teachers. (16) More experienced teachers and less experienced teachers do not show significant difference. (17) The female teachers i.e. university/college teachers were better in their family relationship comparison to male teachers. (18) The family relationship have the relationship with the climate dimensions - disharmony, hindrance, academic emphasis & lack of facilities while negative relationship with support satisfaction, authoritarianism, democracy & freedom have negative relationship. (19) Total more qualified teachers and total less qualified teachers do not have a significant difference regarding anxiety. (20) There is no significant difference in anxiety of university and college teachers.
