The objectives of study were: (1) To find out the reasons of maladjustment in the inmates of Juvenile Home of Baroda with a view to prevent its’ spread. (2) To study the needs and requirements of the inmates of Juvenile Home of Baroda. (3) To study the existing educational program in the agriculture of Juvenile Home. (4) To develop the educational program catering to the needs and requirements of the inmate. (5) To study the effectiveness of the program for the development self-esteem, attitude and academic performance.

The study pertains to development of educational program for the inmates of Juvenile Home of Baroda, the sample for the study confines to the inmates, superintendent, probation officer and the supervisors of the Juvenile Home. Total inmates of Juvenile Home were 123. Out of 123, 60 inmates were selected for the experimentation, which 30 inmates for experimental group and rest 30 inmates for control group.

In order to ascertain the reasons of maladjustment, needs and requirements of the inmates, the existing educational program to develop and to assess the effectiveness of the educational program in terms of personality, self-esteem, attitude of the inmates of Juvenile Home of Baroda, it was necessary to use suitable measuring devices. The tools used were Questionnaire, structured interviews, observation schedule, Anecdotal records, Dutt personality inventory, self-esteem scale and attitude scale.

In order to achieve the objectives of the research, methodology involved survey and experimentation.

Frequencies and percentages were used for data analysis.

The findings of study were: (1) Broken family was the cause of neglect towards the children and resulted into loss of economic support and ultimately making them not adjusted, rigid and hand which did not cater to the needs, requirements and interests of the inmates. (2) The experimental group showed considerable charges and improvements in comparison to contact group. (3) The inmates did not show the desirable charges academically. (4) The inmates felt lonely and abhorred due to the strict and control discipline of the institution and needed frank and homely environment in which they could express themselves.
