To study the three different aspects of research study - professional competency, creativity and professional pleasure among sample of secondary school teachers and find out the relationship among them with demographic variable Sex, Locality, Age, Educational Qualifications, Professional Qualifications, Teaching Experience, Designation, Type of Institution, Type of School Management
There will be no significant relationship between creativity and professional pleasure among the selected secondary school teachers. II. There will be no significant relationship between professional competency and professional pleasure among the selected secondary school teachers. III. There will be no significant relationship between creativity and professional competency among the selected secondary school teachers. IV. There will be no significant relationship among the three dimensions of creativity, and between dimensions of creativity and total creativity among the selected secondary school teachers. V. There will be no significant relationship among the five dimensions of professional competency, and between dimensions of professional competency and total professional competency among the selected secondary school teachers. VI. There will be no significant relationship among the four dimensions of professional pleasure, and between dimensions of professional pleasure and total professional pleasure among the selected secondary school teachers. VII. There will be no significant relationship between the dimensions of creativity and dimensions of professional pleasure among the selected secondary school teachers. VIII. There will be no significant relationship between the dimensions of professional competency and dimensions of professional pleasure among the selected secondary school teachers. IX. There will be no significant relationship between the dimensions of creativity and dimensions of professional competency among the selected secondary school teachers.
Data collection of the present investigation was made on a sample of 700 secondary school teachers working in selected secondary schools of Visakhapatnam district and a total of 500 out of 700 collected were selected randomly for the final study. The investigator approached the secondary school teachers of various governmental organizations like municipality, aided, missionary, kendriya vidyalaya, zilla parishad and pure government schools.
Professional competency scale (PCS) by Dr. Udayagiri Nageswararao. and the tool CDAB, which is known as Creative Dimensions Assessment Battery (Form of Self Assessment) constructed by Undurthy Laxminarayana (1988) was selected as the instrument to measure ‘Creativity three Dimensions - fluency, originality and flexibility The investigator selected and made use of Professional Pleasure Measuring Tool (PPMT) by Dr.Udayagiri Nageswara Rao (1996) for measuring the prevailing professional pleasure among the selected secondary school teachers.

For analysing the data, frequency, mean, median and mode were used. To understand the nature of distribution measures of central tendency, skewness, kurtosis were computed. Chi-square values were used to find out item analysis. t - scores and ANOVA were implemented to testify hypothesis regarding demographic and professional variables on all the three components of study - professional competency, creativity and professional pleasure. Co-efficients of correlation were calculated to establish relationship among the components of study. Thus parametric and non- parametric statistics were adopted. The data was scored with the help of hand calculator as well as the computer with SPSS package. Computation of means, standard deviation, t-scores, F-ratios, ANOVA, skewness was made to study the demographic variables and professional variables with all the three components of study.
There is a significant relationship between creativity and existing professional pleasure among the selected secondary school teachers. It can be inferred that creativity which enhances professional competency will evidently result at professional pleasure. II. There is a significant relationship between professional competency and existing professional pleasure among the sample. It can be inferred that by altering the work style and performance in a novel way to get success in the attempt, a teacher definitely derives professional pleasure. III. There is a significant relationship between creativity and professional competency among the sample. It can be inferred that creative persons, by not being rigid, generate new ideas spontaneously, accept changes in work style, innovate new strategies are definitely very much competent. IV(a). There is a positive, significant relationship between flexibility and originality, between flexibility and fluency but strangely there is no significant relationship between originality and fluency. V(a) There is a positive, significant relationship among all the five dimensions of professional competency - activity based teaching & hurdles, child centred practices, teaching learning material & display, evaluation strategies and novel techniques. VI(a) There is a positive, significant relationship among all the four dimensions of professional pleasure - personal, professional, academic and co-curricular factors. VII.1(a) Flexibility has significant positive correlation with all the dimensions of professional pleasure. It is found that flexibility has high positive correlation with total score of professional pleasure. Regarding the dimensions of professional pleasure, flexibility is highly correlated with academic factor, co-curricular factor, professional factor and personal factor in the hierarchical order. VIII.1(a) Activity based teaching & hurdles has significant positive correlation with all the dimensions of professional pleasure. It is found that activity based teaching & hurdles has high positive correlation not only with total resultant professional pleasure but also with all its dimensions. Among the dimensions, academic, professional, personal and co-curricular factors have correlation with activity based teaching & hurdles, in the hierarchical order. IX.1(a) Flexibility has significant positive correlation with all the dimensions of professional competency. It is found that flexibility has high positive correlation with the total score.
1. District-wise and state-wise profiles of secondary school teachers in professional competency, creativity and the resultant professional pleasure be arrived at. Such profiles will help to locate the cases of high, moderate and low creative and competent teachers. 2. Psychological input courses would be prepared for remedial treatment to low creative teachers so that professional pleasure may be retained and professional competency among them may be enhanced. 3. Indepth case studies of the classroom practices of high and low creative teachers, high and low competent teachers may be tested. 4. Special provision of encouragement to the highly professional competent and creative teachers may be given. 5. An indepth study of low competent teachers with much rigidity and a detailed study of the change reluctance among them may be tried out. 6. Education departments of universities and distance education centers, research centers should direct researches in this area. The infrastructural facilities in terms of enhancing reading, writing, discussion and publication should be thought out by the administration to make the education process flourish well. 7. In educational institutions, the teachers with high creativity should be given weightage at the time of recruitment. A single low- creative and moderate creative teacher will adversely influence thousands of students thus damage the educative process. 8. In schools, the teachers with high professional competency and high creativity should be assigned with more responsibilities, more appreciation and greater feedback. 9. The moderate creative and moderate competent teachers should be given some refresher course and psychological training so that they can be motivated and meaning in profession and professional pleasure can be attained. 10. The important stress creators in teaching should be studied and such extrinsic annoyers can be lessened and minimised to enhance professional pleasure among the secondary school teachers. What about highly professional competent and highly creative teachers who are exemplary to others? Some incentives, feedback, appreciation should be given by authorities. The moderate creative teachers should be trained. The moderate competent teachers should be properly guided and assisted. The low creative and low competent teachers should be treated with sympathy and they were advised to go for counselors approach.
