The objectives of study were: (1) To measure the attitude of rural & urban teachers towards population education. (2) To find out the difference in attitude towards population education of rural & urban teachers. (3) To find out the difference in attitude towards population education of trained & untrained rural & urban teachers. (4) To compare the attitude of rural & urban teachers on caste basis. (5) To find out the difference in attitude towards population education of adult & young rural & urban teachers. (6) To find out the difference in attitude towards population education of married & unmarried rural & urban teachers.
The hypotheses of study were: (1) The attitude towards population
education of urban teachers is more as compared to rural teachers. (2)
There is no difference in attitude towards population education of rural
and urban teachers. (3) There is no difference in attitude towards
population education of trained & untrained teachers. (4) There is
no difference in attitude towards population education of rural and
urban teachers on caste basis. (5) Significant difference in attitude
towards population education is found. (6) There is no significant
difference in attitude towards population education of adult & young
rural and urban teachers. (7) There is no significant difference in
attitude towards population education of married & unmarried
teachers.
The sample selected using Random Lottery Method comprised of 500 Teachers from Moradabad Mandal.
Population Education Attitude Scale (Split-half Reliability coefficient= 0.58) was developed by researcher for data collection. The Research was Descriptive in nature.The data were analyzed by Means, t – test and F - Test.
The findings of study were: (1) Rural and urban science teachers were having positive attitude towards population education. (2) No significant difference was found in attitude towards population education for rural & urban teachers and untrained rural & urban teachers. (3) General & schedule caste urban teachers were having positive attitude towards population education where as urban & rural teachers were having similar attitude. (4) Hindu & Christian urban teachers were having positive attitude towards population education where as urban & rural muslim teachers were having similar attitude towards population education. (5) Adult rural and urban teachers were having similar attitude towards population education where as young urban female teachers & urban science teachers were having positive attitude towards population education.
