(2) The level of skills acquired by students is dependent upon their sex. (3) The level of skills acquired by students is dependent upon their socio-economic strata.
Total 490 students were the members of sample. The experimental group
followed the creative method developed by the investigator while control
group followed the regular teaching. Treatment continued for five
months including all holidays and long vacation.
Questionnaire, action plan for measuring the impact of creative method,
pretest for equating the group, posttest for measuring the impact of
creative method and information sheet were the tools used in this study
constructed by the investigator.
The study was divided into two parts: survey and experimental. For the survey, 17 schools from Pune city were taken. Out of these, six
schools were selected randomly for the experimental study. Pretest
posttest equivalent group design was used for the experiment. The
control group and experimental group were equated on the basis of mean
score obtained on the pretest.
Data were analyzed by using percentage, mean, SD and t-test.
The following were the findings of the study: (1) There is a positive gain in learning English by the creative method. (2) The students from the experimental group demonstrated a significant progress because of learning by the creative method. (3) The students of the experimental group have shown significant improvement in the acquisition of fourfold skills of English language, viz., listening, speaking, reading and writing.
