The objectives of the present study are:
1.
To locate the
scientific talents.
2.
To provide
facilities to these talented individuals.
This study has studied subjects who were selected in 1964 and 1965 for
the National Science Talent Search Award.
A questionnaire was developed by the researcher to collect data.
Descriptive research was used for the study.
Mean, S.D., ANOVA and F-value
were employed for data analysis.
The findings of this study are as follows:
This study provides
information about background factors, parental socio-economic background and
values, health, physical condition and general state of well being,
institutional climate and value orientation and mentor relationships of the
talented. Further, the detailed
description of findings have been presented in the different chapters of this
study under headings like social description of the talented , family
backgrounds, educational backgrounds, their health and physical condition and
general well-being of the talented, institutional climate and mentor
relationships as perceived by the talented, job description of the talented,
values and beliefs, cognitive and affective everyday life experiences and
preferences, life style and behaviour patterns, mature achievements and accomplishments
of the talented.
This study will give an idea to what extent one can put faith in the
procedures adopted for selection and nurturance of talent.
