The objectives of this study were: (1) To find out the self-concept,
aspiration and academic achievement of agriculture and non-agriculture students
at college level. (2) To find out the relationship between self-concept,
aspirations and academic achievement of agriculture and non- agriculture
students.(3) To give suggestions for improvement.
The techniques used for data analysis were mean; standard deviation; Product Moment correlation and t-test.
The findings were: (1) The mean of non-agriculture group is higher than that of agriculture group. Therefore, non-agriculture students are better than agriculture students in self-concept. (2) In temperamental qualities the mean of agriculture group is higher than that of non-agriculture group. (3) In academic status the mean of non-agriculture group is higher than that of agriculture group. (4) In intellectual abilities the mean value for the non-agriculture group is higher than that of agriculture group. (5) In habits and behaviour the mean value for the non-agriculture group is higher than that of agriculture group. (6) The observed value of coefficient of correlation between aspirations and academic achievement within non-agriculture group is 0.72, which is positive, high and significant.
