The objectives of the study were: (1) To study experiment of Basic Education which developed after independence in Gujarat. (2) To study present Structures, Curriculum and Activities of Basic Educational Institutes in Gujarat. (3) To study characteristics of Basic Education. (4) To study statistical growth of Basic Institutes, teachers and students after independence. (5) To study institutes which took part in development of Basic Education in Gujarat. (6) To study Achievements of last five years S.S.C. Examination of students of Basic Education institute.
For the study, investigator select 536 Basic Educational institutes which are working from 8th to 10th up to year 1989 in Gujarat.
Register of general information, opinion notes, and case study are used as tools.
Documentary Research Survey Method is taken to study development of Basic Education in which old study research, reference books, reports, encyclopedia, magazines, notes from curriculum are noted.
Research is based on qualitative and quantitative analysis.
The major findings were (1) Quantitative growth has taken place in Basic Institutes for last ten year. (2) There are many schools as main institutes. (3) There are many schools having own premises. (4) Khadi (cotton) uniform is used in all schools. (5) There are many Basic Institutes having their own hostels.
