The objectives of the study were: (1) To study social perceptions of the professional requirements of Primary School teachers of formal centers of education. (2) To study the impacts of two successive training college (i) Training teachers in community improving the environment round school locality and the child (3) to evaluate the training of lady teachers by measuring- (i) the process of training (ii) the product achievement of students and comparing it with a similarly trained group of male teachers to evolve distinct criteria of training of male and female teachers.
Sample comprised of 200 subjects (Primary teachers, Educationists and elite and training college Lectures) from Agra city. Random Casual Sampling Technique was used for sampling.
The tools used for data collection were –Test to Identify the Factors of Specific Training Need, General Teaching Competence Schedule, Achievement Test in Hindi, Arithmetic Test for class III, IV and V construct by the investigator. The reliability of Hindi test of class III, IV and V were found 0.76,
0.85 and 0.72 respectively by Test-Retest method. The reliability of
Arithmetic test of class III, IV and V were found 0.86, 0.75 and O.82
respectively by Test- retest method.
The present study was descriptive in nature.
Data was analyzed by computing t-value.
The findings of the study were- (1) With regard to specific curricular training Needs of lady teachers in Rural areas, the following factors were found development stage of child, specific traits of each stage, knowledge that of primary child, knowledge that this is the age most appropriate for value orientation, knowledge of physical growth of child, genetic determinants of behaviors with elementary knowledge of the children, knowledge of learning process, knowledge of cognitive development, knowledge of development in child, knowledge of cognitive development of normal values and self control, knowledge of health and physical development. (2) With regard to specific training Needs of Environmental awareness- the education system are attempting to respond to the needs to know about the environment to present environment degradation and to ensure, at least, reasonable quality of environment for future generation. (3) There were found significant difference between control and experimental groups in mean achievement scores of class III, IV and V students in Hindi language. It goes in favors of the experimental group. This difference could only be specialized training given to lady teachers. The similar result were found in case of Arithmetic Achievement of class III, IV and V students belonged to experimental and control groups.
