The objectives of the study were: (1) To study the general anxiety of the general students. (2) To study the academic anxiety of the general students. (3) To correlate the academic anxiety and general anxiety of general students. (4) To correlate the general anxiety and academic achievement of general students. (5) To correlate the academic anxiety and academic achievement of general students. (6) To study the general anxiety of the schedule caste students. (7) To study the academic anxiety of the schedule caste students. (8) To correlate the academic anxiety and general anxiety of schedule caste students. (9) To correlate the general anxiety and academic achievement of schedule caste students. (10) To correlate the academic anxiety and academic achievement of schedule caste students. (11) To compare the general anxiety of general caste and schedule caste students. (12) To compare the academic anxiety of general caste and schedule caste students. (13) To compare the academic achievement of general caste and schedule caste students.
The hypothesis of the study were: (1) General students will have high general anxiety. (2) General students will have high academic anxiety. (3) There will be significant difference between the general anxiety and academic anxiety of general students. (4) There will be significant difference between the general anxiety and academic achievement of general students. (5) There will be significant difference between the academic anxiety and academic achievement of general students. (6) Schedule caste students will have high general anxiety. (7) Schedule caste students will have high academic anxiety. (8) There will be significant difference between the general anxiety and academic anxiety of schedule caste students. (9) There will be significant difference between the academic anxiety and academic achievement of schedule caste students. (10) There will be significant difference between the general anxiety and academic achievement of general students. (11) There will be significant difference between the general anxiety of general students and schedule caste students. (12) There will be significant difference between the academic anxiety of general students and schedule caste students. (13) There will be significant difference between the academic achievement of general students and schedule caste students.
The sample was selected randomly from ninth class of four Hindi medium private high schools of Jodhpur city. The sample comprised of 400 students selected randomly.
The tools used for data collection were: General anxiety Scale by D.A. Kumar, academic achievement scale by A. Sengupta, and 10th class marks as academic achievement.
Survey method is used to collect the related data.
The obtained data were analyzed with the help of t-test and correlation techniques.
The findings of the study were: (1) The general caste and schedule caste students have average level general anxiety and very low academic anxiety. (2) The general caste and schedule caste students have high academic anxiety than general anxiety. (3) Academic achievement of general and schedule caste students increases when they have general anxiety and academic anxiety. (4) General anxiety and academic anxiety of schedule caste students were lower than general students. (5) There was no specific difference between academic achievement of general and schedule caste students.
