(1) To compare national integration, self – concept, attitudes and values of National Service Scheme (N.S.S) and non – N.S.S. students. (2) To compare national integration, self – concept, attitudes and values of N.S.S. students having different degree of participation in N.S.S. activities. Number of camp attendance was taken to be the criterion of the amount of N.S.S. activities.
(1) N.S.S. students will demonstrate theoretical, economic, aesthetic, social political and religious values superior to that of non – N.S.S. students. (2) N.S.S. students will demonstrate more positive attitude towards teachers, parents, discipline, life, community and country to that of non – N.S.S. students. (3) N.S.S. students will demonstrate self-concept superior to that of non – N.S.S. students. (4) N.S.S. students will demonstrate national integration superior to that of non – N.S.S. students. (5) N.S.S. students having greater participation in the activities of N.S.S. will demonstrate theoretical, economic, aesthetic, social political and religious values superior to that of non – N.S.S. students. (6) N.S.S. students having greater participation in the activities of N.S.S. will demonstrate more positive attitude towards teachers, parents, discipline, life, community and country to that of non – N.S.S. students. (7) N.S.S. students having greater participation in the activities of N.S.S. will demonstrate more positive self- concept than those students who had lesser participation in the activities of N.S.S. (8) N.S.S. students having greater participation in the activities of N.S.S. will demonstrate greater national integration than those students who had lesser participation in the activities of N.S.S.

Self – Concept Test by Pratibha Deo, Attitude Scale by Sodhi, Value Test by Ojha and National Integration Questionnaire were developed by Researcher were used for data collection.
Survey Method was used in research.
The data were analyzed by Mean, SD and t – test.
The findings of study were: (1) No significant differences are obtained between the means of N.S.S. and Non-N.S.S. groups of students on all dimensions of value. (2) There is insignificant difference between the mean value of attitude of N.S.S. and non-N.S.S. groups of students. (3) The mean value of self – concept of N.S.S. group was significantly higher as compared to non - N.S.S. students. (4) The mean value of national integration of N.S.S. students is significantly more as compared to non-N.S.S. students. (5) Significant difference on the total value system between the mean values of two groups of students are observed who attended no camp and three camp, one camp and three camps. But all others differences are found to be insignificant. (6) Attending camp/s may help the students in the development of their favorable and positive attitude towards teachers, parents, discipline, life, community and country. (7) N.S.S. activities may not have impact on the self-concept of the students. (8) The participation in N.S.S. activities by way of attending no camp or attending camp/s hardly help the students in developing their spirit of national integration.
