The objectives of the study were: (1) To construct and standardize the scale to measure creative behaviors of high school students. (2) To study the creative behavior of high school students in relation to area where high schools are situated. (3) To study the creative behavior of high school students in relation to sex. (4) To study the creative behavior of high school students in relation to IQ. (5) To study the creative behavior of high school students in relation to their castes. (6) To study the creative behavior of high school students in relation to their achievement. (7) To study the creative behavior of high school students in relation to their socio-economic status.
The hypotheses of study were: (1) There is no significant effect of area on the creative behavior of high school students. (2) There is no significant effect of sex on the creative behavior of high school students. (3) There is no significant effect of IQ on the creative behavior of high school students. (4) There is no significant effect of achievement of students on the creative behavior of high school students. (5) There is no significant effect of interaction between area and sex on creative behaviour of high school students. (6) There is no significant effect of interaction between area and IQ on creative behaviour of high school students. (7) There is no significant effect of interaction between area and achievement of students on creative behaviour of high school students. (8) There is no significant effect of interaction between sex and IQ on creative behaviour of high school students. (9) There is no significant effect of interaction between sex and achievement on creative behaviour of high school students. (10) There is no significant effect of interaction between IQ and achievement on creative behaviour of high school students. (11) There is no significant effect of interaction among area, sex and IQ on creative behaviour of high school students. (12) There is no significant effect of interaction among area, sex and achievement on creative behaviour of high school students. (13) There is no significant effect of interaction among area, IQ and achievement on creative behaviour of high school students. (14) There is no significant effect of interaction among sex, IQ and achievement on creative behaviour of high school students. (15) There is no significant effect of interaction among area, sex, IQ and achievement on creative behaviour of high school students. (16) There is no significant effect of caste on creative behaviour of high school students. (17) There is no significant effect of SES on creative behaviour of high school students.
Sample consisted of 1600 students of high school of Anand and Kheda district of Gujarat.
Tools used to measure the variables were group intelligence test by K. G. Desai, SES Scale by K. G. Patel, and Creative Behavior Scale constructed and standardized by the investigator.The test-retest and split-half reliability coefficients of the scale
were 0.76 and 0.86 respectively. Area, sex and Stanine norms were
established for the scale.
The study was descriptive type.
Data were analyzed with the help of t-test and ANOVA.
The findings of study were: (1) The creative behavior of high schools students were high. (2) Area, IQ, SES and Achievement, separately, play their role in the creative behaviour of high school students, while sex and caste did not play their role in the creative behavior of high school students. (3) The effect of interaction of (a) area and sex, (b) area and IQ, (c) area and achievement, (d) Sex and IQ, (e) Sex and achievement, (e) IQ and Achievement, (f) Area, sex and IQ, (g) Area, sex and achievement, (h) Area, IQ and Achievement, and (i) Sex, IQ and Achievement on the creative behavior of high school students was found to be significant.
