The objectives of the study were: (1) To evaluate various errors in Marathi language writings of H.S. level students standing in deformity with the prescribed prevailing rules. (2) To evaluate the underlying reasons.
The major findings of the study were: (1) There existed ignorance even about the major (20) rules prescribed for writing Marathi language in a correct manner at both the ends students and teachers. (2) No attention was paid to the written performance of the students with a view to guide them to stand in conformity with the rules. (3) The above aspect was excluded to be cared for by the inspecting / supervising authorities. (4) No stress was laid on this aspect in the teaching-learning process.
