The objectives of the study were: (1) To develop a national value education programme on the national values. (2) To construct a national value based national value general value test. (3) To construct a three point national value rating scale. (4) To test the influence of national value education programme on the national values of the secondary school students of the Ahmedabad city in context of certain variables. (5) To test the level of the secondary school students regarding general knowledge of the nation. (6) To major the national value attitude of the secondary school students of the Ahmedabad city.

Two groups, one school from standard 8th and standard 9th and two groups from another school of standard 8th and standard 9th were selected. For the experiment one group this school was taken as experimental group and another school group was taken as control group. 

National Value Education (NVE) programme of two months was developed and implemented as experiment. For measure the general knowledge a general knowledge test was prepared, along with this a three point rating scale was also developed by the investigator.

For the study Survey and Experimental methods were used. Pre-test and posttest experimental design was used.

Data was analyzed with the help of ANOVA and t-test.

The major findings of the study were: (1) The level of the general knowledge regarding the national values of the students of secondary students of Ahmedabad city was found. (2) Attitudes regarding national values of the Ahmedabad city were found. (3) The effect of the NVE progamme, we can develop a remarkable positive attitude regarding the national values and we can score the high rank regarding the general knowledge of the nation
