(1) The yogic practices help adolescent girls significantly in improving their emotional adjustment. (2) The yogic practices help adolescent girls significantly in improving their social adjustment. (3) The yogic practices help adolescent girls significantly in improving their educational adjustment. (4) The yogic practices help adolescent girls significantly in reducing their emotional unstability. (5) The yogic practices help adolescent girls significantly in reducing their emotional regression. (6) The yogic practices help adolescent girls significantly in reducing their social mal adjustment. (7) The yogic practices help adolescent girls significantly in reducing their personality integration. (8) The yogic practices help adolescent girls significantly in reducing their lack of independence.
The sample comprised randomly selected 120 Adolescents Girls of age group 15 – 17 Class XI from Queen Mary’s School, Delhi.
Adjustment Inventory for School Students by A.K.P. Sinha & R.P. Singh, Emotional Maturity Scale by Yashvir Singh & Mahesh Bhargava were used for data collection.
The research was Experimental in nature. Aasan & Pranayam were used as a Treatment.
The data were analyzed by ANOVA & ANCOVA.
(1) The yogic practices effect positively and significantly the emotional adjustment among the adolescent girls. Pranayamik practices are significantly more effective than Asanas, and a combination of Aasans & Pranayamas respectively. (2) The yogic practices mentioned above make a positive but statistically insignificant effect on social adjustment among the adolescent girls. (3) The yogic practices mentioned above make a positive statistically insignificant effect on educational adjustment among adolescent girls. (4) The yogic practices mentioned above make a positive effect on reducing emotional unstability among adolescent girls. (5) The yogic practices mentioned above make a positive effect in reducing emotional regression among adolescent girls. Asanas’ effect is maximum followed by pranayam and a combination of Asanas and Pranayamas respectively. (6) The yogic practices mentioned above make a positive but statistically insignificant effect in reducing social maladjustment among adolescent girls. (7) The yogic practices mentioned above make a positive effect in reducing personality and positive & significant effect in reducing lack of independence among adolescent girls. Asanas are most effective followed by a combination of Asanas and Pranayamas respectively.
