The objectives were: (1) To measure the level of political awareness of college students. (2) To compare the political awareness of male and female students. (3) To compare the political awareness of graduate with postgraduate students. (4) To compare the political awareness of upper caste, backward caste and schedule caste students. (5) To measure the quantitatively political awareness.

The hypotheses of study were: (1) Political awareness of male students may be higher than that of female students. (2) Political awareness of postgraduate students may be higher than that of graduate students. (3) Political awareness of upper caste students may be higher than that of backward caste and schedule caste students. (4) Political awareness of upper caste students may be higher than that of middle class or lower class students. (5) Political awareness of those students who are active member of political parties may be higher than that of those students who are not related to political parties.

Purposive Sampling Technique was used for selecting 400 graduate and postgraduate students of 8 colleges of Bundelkhand University.

The data was collected with the help of self - prepared Interview Inventory.

The present study was descriptive in nature. Analytical and Evaluative research design was used.

The data were analyzed by percentage.

The findings of study were: (1) Political awareness in male students was higher than that of female students. (2) Political awareness in postgraduate students is higher than that of graduate students. (3) Political awareness is lower in backward caste and schedule caste students than that of upper caste students. (4) Political awareness is higher in upper class and lower class students. (5) It was also found that it is not necessary that the political awareness of those students who are active participants of political parties is higher than those students who do not participate actively in political parties.
