The objectives of the study were: (1) To study the impact of training on the behavior of various types of trainees of DIET programs. (2) To study the impact of training on personality traits of various types of trainees of DIET programs. (3) To study the impact of training on the social adjustment of various types of trainees under DIET program. (4) To study the impact of training on expression of various types of training under DIET programs. (5) To evaluate improvement in the pre-exposed and post-exposed teachers. (6) To study the impact of training of various types of trainees under DIET program.
The hypotheses of the study were: (1) Training under DIET program does not change the behavior of trainees. (2) Personality of trainees is not affected by training under DIET program. (3) Training under DIET program does not improve the social adjustment of trainees. (4) Expression of trainees does not change by training under DIET program. (5) Training under DIET program does not change the attitude of trainees towards- teaching, profession, classroom teaching, child-centered practices, teachers attitude toward educational environment separately.
Sample comprised 150 pre-service, in-service and NFE trainees of DIET of Gwalior region.
Tools used for data collection were Teaching Attitude Inventory (TAI) by S.P. Ahuwalia. Data analysis was based on mean, SD and t-test.
The present study was ex-post-facto type descriptive method..
The findings of the study were: (1) In case of pre-service trainees, the training did not make any significant change in the views of trainees towards their body, health, physical appearance and strength whereas in case of in-service and NFE instructors the training did not change significantly. (2) In case of pre-service trainees the training could not make change in the temperament and the moral of trainees. But the in-service and NFE instructors made significant change in the temperament and moral of these trainees. (3) All the three groups of trainees did make significant change in the intellectual level of trainees. (4) In case of pre-service trainees the training did not make change in their social adjustment. But in case of in-service and NFE instructors the training did make significant improvement in the social adjustment. (5) The training under DIET program significantly changed the attitude of all the three groups of trainees towards educational process and pupil. (6) The training under DIET program did make significant change in the attitudes of all the three groups of trainees towards teaching profession, classroom teaching, child-centered practices of teachers and towards educational environment separately. (7) The training under DIET program did make significant change in the self-concept and attitude towards teaching of trainee-teachers.
