The objectives of this were: (1) To find out the environment in
Higher Secondary schools situated in tribal areas as perceived by tribal
students residing in hostels. (2) To measure the personality factors of tribal
students and to identify the values held by tribal students studying in schools
in tribal areas and residing in hostels. (3) To study the homogeneity of
various school environmental factors. (4) To draw implications of the findings
for education.
The data were analyzed with the help of correlation and Regression Analysis.
The findings were: (1) The relationship between school environmental factors and academic achievement was low. (2) The relationship between school environmental factors and value held by tribal students was low.
